WORKING OF SATELLITE DISH TV- Explanation | Eternal Engineers Blogs

    In my childhood, I could remember that day when the messy wired cable connection of my TV in my home was replaced with a parabolic dish on the terrace. Many questions aroused in my mind regarding the structure of the dish, a mic like mounted structure over the middle of the dish which later I came to know that it was called as receiver. I wondered how a plate like structure would capable of providing the streaming feature in the television. Later, I came to know about the working process and would discuss the process  behind the transmission from the TV Station till the live streaming of your favourite channel in your television by a handy remote.

    First of all, For an instance, A Media channel named Eternal Engineers Solutions TV is broadcasting a program. The programme source is encrypted and  transmitted to satellite by the transmitter located in the media station. Then DBS(Direct Broadcast Satellite) providers (Sun direct ,Tata sky, Videocon dth) would pay and acquire the publishing rights of the channel to be streamed. DBS set the various channels with distinct, identical frequencies (i.e every channel would operate on a different frequency).DBS providers broadcast the channels with the help of a satellite.

    Coming back to terrace, the parabolic dish has a receiver mounted on the centre , receives the transmitted signals from the satellite, provided that the dish must be aligned in the direction of the satellite for intense signal strength. The shape of the dish is parabolic because, the received signals would converge at the centre achieving intense signal strength fed to  the feedhorn in receiver is mounted, is subjected to amplification along with filtering process and fed to TV. The smart card in the set top box in our house would  follow the decryption process which facilitates the streaming of the favourite channel in the T.V. Remote would change the channel by changing the operating frequency of the television. This is how, the media channels are being streamed.
